Alan E. South has practiced in mortgage banking, real estate, bankruptcy
and related areas for over 25 years. He is a frequent speaker on mortgage banking, bankruptcy, and related issues.
Mr. South was born in Mexico, Missouri, on July 9, 1948. In 1973 he was admitted to the Missouri bar and
the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. In 1978, he was admitted to practice before the
U.S. Supreme Court, and in 1979, he was admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eight and Tenth
Circuits. Mr. South received his undergraduate B.A. degree at Missouri Valley College in 1970. He obtained his law
degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1973. He is a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Mr. South
is also a member of the following bar associations and organizations: Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; American Bar
Association; The Missouri Bar Association; Mortgage Bankers Association of America, Legal Issues Committee; and the American
College of Mortgage Attorneys.
